New Electric Moulding Machine

D & G evaluated several mould machines over a 9 month period before purchasing a Sumitomo Demag IntElec2 75/450-250 electric moulding machine to replace an existing hydraulic machine.

3 MOULD TOOLS TRANSFERRED TO D AND G

D & G Moulding Ltd gain a new customer who has decided to transfer 3 existing tools to their Alton manufacturing site. The components produced will be used in a defence application.

NEW SERVICES ADDED TO ISO 9001 APPROVAL

D and G Moulding Ltd have been audited and approved to add design(product and tooling), non-contact measurement and assembly to their ISO 9001:2008 scope.

Order placed for OGP MVP Smartscope

D and G spent nine months evaluating and benchmarking CNC CMR machines to improve their ability to produce first article reports and collect statistical process control (SPC) data. Two machines were benchmaked for accuracy, repeatability, reliabilty, ease of use and customer service.

Managing Director David Ivey said ” today we have placed an order for an OGP MVP 200 smartscope to support and promote our manufacturing services.

5 Tools Delivered

May 2014

Five mould tools were received during May. Each tool needed to be conditioned, first article reports produce and SPC results run prior to production sign-off.

The responsiveness, quality and cost effectiveness of our moulding process has resulted in 4 mould tools tools being transferred to D&G Moulding Limited by an existing customer.

D and G Customer Receives Queens Award

The directors and staff at D&G Moulding Ltd would like to congratulate Tacktick Ltd on winning the prestigious Queens Award for Innovation. At a presentation in Southampton the directors of D&G were introduced to Her Royal Highness for their part in designing the waterproof housings, manufacturing the tooling and producing the plastic components to support these very advanced electronic assemblies. The expertise acquired by both companies has evolved over a ten year period and led to mutual success. D & G would like to wish Tacktick every success in the future.

Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal spent time meeting with Tacktick staff, suppliers, customers and Olympic sailors including Sarah Webb, at an event hosted by Tacktick at the Southampton Boat Show. Clive Johnson. Joint Managing Director of Tacktick was then presented with Queen’s Award for Innovation glass bowl by The Princess Royal who commented on the company’s innovative wireless range of marine electronics.
